Conservation Article Jan 2008

At Apex we are very proud of our approach to the repair, alteration or restoration of both historic buildings and new buildings in conservation areas.

We carry out archaeological research and study historic maps in order to develop a brief for which we can test the value and quality of various design solutions. Apex has a spcialist Conservation Architect, based in our Oxford office, who works on all our projects that invoive the need for conservation. He undertakes any necessary historical research into the specific area and will carry out and provide a Conservation Area/ Local Area Building Impact Statement for the Local Authority.

All Local Councils have Conservation Officers and Conservation Local Area Plans. When you wish to build or renovate/ repair in these areas it is always best to invoive the Planning Officer and Conservation Officer in a pre-application enquiry. Apex are pleased to offer advice should you require it. Salford Hall is just one of the many Conservation/ Listed Building projects we are working on at the moment.
